I believe Autocom doesn't provide a newer version than 2013.3, as there are a couple of lines on their site mentioning that older versions of their software are still supported.
It's still possible to have a PC running older software, so downloading and installing it should be fine.

How to wait for socket connections from Node.js server to receive data in Python
I'm trying to send some data to a socket connection on a Node.js server. This data can take up to 5 seconds to be sent to the server. I have a python client that waits for data on the connection. If there is no data received, the client will wait again (I assume) until data is received.
I'm trying to make the python client hang until the data is received on the server. My code is below. I need the while loop to be on the client side, but I have no idea how to do it.
client.py:

# do something with buffer
